Parkland or Heath, simple 9 hole to inspiring 18, beginner's level or championship, lady or gentleman, you'll find it in Perthshire, and notably around Pitlochry, which offers a choice of ten superb courses within easy reach to test even the most ardent golfer, including a very fine local course, a highland gem at Taymouth Castle, and a stunning international class test at Rosemount Blairgowrie.

And then of course there's Gleneagles. The Kings and Queens courses at Gleneagles probably represent the pinnacle of achievement for James Braid the golf course architect. Both are quite superb heathland courses set in some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland. The Kings course has hosted many important events since its official opening in 1919 including a match between British and American professionals which was the forerunner of the Ryder Cup.
Pitlochry Golf Club
Pitlochry Golf Club is fast becoming one of the most respected inland golf courses in Scotland, which is saying a lot if you know anything about the legendary reputation Scotland has for golf courses. The course provides a fantastic golfing experience, with sweeping views of the Tummel Valley and a top notch clubhouse where you can treat yourself to food and drinks. The club offers great service and value to visitors and members.
An ideal location for Scottish holiday makers, Pitlochy Golf Club is easy driving distance from Scotland's main cities. The course design balances the two elements all golfers enjoy, exhilaration and relaxation. The course is situated in what is known as the gateway to the Scottish Highlands, and the course will test all elements of your game. The breath taking views and undulating greens make this 18 hole par 69 course a delight for golfers of all levels.
The course was designed and laid out in 1908 by famous golf architect, Willie Fernie of Troon. The location is at the foot of Ben Y Vrackie and offers great views down the Tummel Valley. It was opened for play by the public in 1909 and later received some modernisation by Major Cecil Hutcheson.
The Pitlochy Golf Club is open to members and visitors, welcoming groups for an enjoyable day of golf on a 5700 yard course with manicured greens and classic tree lined fairways. The Pro Shop and Club House offer good service and amenities. In fact, you don't even have to be a golfer to enjoy the Club House, with a bar, lounge, restaurant and sun terrace, family and friends can unwind here and enjoy the stunning views. The Clubhouse is open between 9am and 11pm and has Sky Sports.

Aberfeldy Golf Club
Aberfeldy Golf Club was founded in 1895 and, until 1995, was a nine hole course which ran along the south bank of the River Tay. In 1993 the Club decided to extend the course to eighteen holes. In order to do this a bridge had to be built across the river and, almost a century to the day that the course originally opened, the new course was opened to members and the public. The new course runs on either side of the River Tay and has the unique attraction of allowing players to cross the historic river via its own private bridge, which is listed in the Guiness Book of Records.
